I wasn't sure what to expect from these sessions. I have heard so much about suffering and forgiveness. I have been told again and again to forget about my past. But my past was having a lot of impact on my present, so I just didn't understand how I could pretend that I wasn't going through what I was. Through Susan's sessions, I learned to acknowledge my suffering and be kind to myself. I learned that I don't have to let the suffering take over my life. I received a lot of clarity about myself. It was like meeting myself and hearing about my life.
"The flow of the lessons leads the participants gently through the steps of opening the conversation. Each step also moves forward in levels of trust. It was powerful."
"I have never been to further schooling. I did not think I would ever be able to have more education. And now after this course, I am a teacher in my community and in my church!"
"If you ever get discouraged by sitting at a computer writing lessons for us... don't. We are so grateful for all that you do to help us teach the young girls. We do not have time to develop these studies that they so much need. Keep writing!!!"
"I work with an orphanage... During this seminar I have found various tools so that I can help the children tell their stories and express their feelings."
"The teaching on forgiveness and resolution just set in such relief in me... as if it has answered my long un-answered questions."
"Please come and do this for our church leadership. So many people are hurting."
"I have gone through the curriculum and they are wonderful. They fit our model and what I really like is that they are not so "westernized" that it will be easy to make them relevant in our (their) culture.
These lessons are one of the most impactful resources I have discovered since being on the field."
Moo Thaw Htoo was in Thrive class for two weeks, learning about leadership and learning to teach. He is now teaching in a Thai Karen village. "I remember what you were teaching me. It's a long time but I still remember. I have my certificate. Please come visit and see my school."
Moo Thaw was a student and now he is a teacher. He has the Thrive book for reference and uses it to teach others.
